The Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar

Hi I’m Dr. Cindy Ross and today we are discussing the benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar.

What is Apple Cider Vinegar?

Apple cider vinegar is the result of a multi-step process exposing crushed apples to yeast, which ferments sugars turning them into alcohol. The resultant alcohol, with the addition of bacteria, converts into acetic acid, the primary active ingredient in ACV known to drive most of its health benefits.

Organic, raw, unfiltered ACV also contains a substance called mother, which contains enzymes, gut friendly bacteria, and strands of proteins that create the murky appearance of apple cider vinegar. The mother is also believed to be a major contributor to the benefits of ACV.

Apple cider vinegar is a popular home remedy. People have used it for centuries in cooking and medicine.

Many people claim it can relieve a wide range of health complaints, but you may wonder what the research says.

Apple cider vinegar has various healthful properties, including antimicrobial and antioxidant effects.

Health benefits of ACV are as follows:

• aiding weight loss

ACV has proven it can cause a reduction in body weight, hip circumference, and BMI by reducing cholesterol

• Lowering blood sugar levels

Numerous studies in humans show that vinegar can improve insulin function and lower blood sugar levels after meals

• Helps to Detox and Cleanse the Body

Detoxification helps rid the body of harmful toxins that may lead to serious health concerns.

• Inflammation

The health benefits of apple cider vinegar for inflammation are clear when we view its effects on inflammatory conditions like arthritis and joint pain. Anti-inflammatory diets often include ACV due to its rich antioxidant and flavonoid composition. This helps maintain a healthy gut composition, reduces inflammation, and potentially helps autoimmune disorders.

• Gut Health

Natural probiotics (friendly bacteria), which may help with your immune system and gut health.

- Acid reflux

Apple cider vinegar may introduce more acid into the digestive tract. If your acid reflux is the result of too little stomach acid, this might be beneficial.

• Tremors

An ample amount of Proteolytic Enzymes are found in Apple Cider Vinegar. Proteolytic enzymes breakdown protein into amino acid form for your body to get the best nutritional absorption of those proteins. It aids in helping the tremors because it's returning your body back to a state of balance.

How much apple cider vinegar should you drink a day? Knowing how much apple cider vinegar per day you should take is important for maximizing benefits and safety. You should try to consume 1,000 mg of organic apple cider vinegar with the mother each day.

For liquid ACV, this is about 1-2 tablespoons diluted with 1-2 cups of water. For ACV gummies, this should be 2-4 gummies, depending on the brand. This is a safe and effective dosage for general health and wellness.

Testing positive for COVID-19...

We do everything together, we might as well do this together too!
Jason Ross and I both have tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday. We have been in quarantine since Saturday, July 4, and will continue quarantining ourselves in order to take precautions against spreading the disease. I never knew how big our family was until facing this frightening virus, the outpouring support from family and friends has been overwhelming and appreciated. Until we got sick, we didn't personally know anyone with it, that being said I am sure you will have questions regarding symptoms. My symptoms have been much milder than Jason's so far. As healthy as he is, COVID has been pretty tough to fight. Living with an autoimmune disease (RA), contracting this virus has been my worst nightmare. I hope this is helpful and can shed some light on how severe COVID can be.
Jason's Symptoms:
1. Severe Headache
2. Fever
3. Pressure in the eyes
4. Skin sensitive to touch
5. Body aches
6. Excruciating back pain
7. Taste change
8. Respiratory changes
Things Jason has been taking to help combat symptoms:
Airborne (Zinc & Vit C)
Coconut Water
Juice

Tramadol as needed for pain
As of yesterday, Dexamethasone
Cindy's Symptoms:

2. Mild body aches
3. Loss of taste, smell, and appetite
4. Congestion
5. Mild cough
Things I have been taking to help combat symptoms:
The DIP Diet (no dairy, no animal products)
Airborne (Zinc & Vit C)
Coconut Water
Juice
Tylenol
Wine at night to calm my anxiety
Jason is Day 7 and I am Day 6
The team at Southern Rapid Care has been amazing and so helpful.
I am posting this in hopes you and yours remain safe and well. Take the mask seriously, just because you are healthy doesn't mean you are invincible, not only are you protecting yourself but others who may be immune-compromised. The virus has so many unknowns and we need to do our part to care for one another.
Thanks again to all the wonderful people in our life who have called, text daily, dropped care packages off, and picked up prescriptions. We love you all from the bottom of our hearts.
